Smart to make LTE available in Batanes!

Few weeks after bringing LTE-A connection to Sagada, Smart Communications, Inc. is bringing LTE connectivity to another iconic area in the north.

LTE in Batanes soon? Yes please!

We discovered that Smart is planning to fire up a 4G LTE cell site to the northmost provice in the country, the breathtaking Islands of Batanes.

In case you missed it, Batanes is the hard-to-reach northmost provice in the country. It's an archipelago found in the Cagayan Valley region and the smallest in land size and population in the Philippines.

We think that this initiative by Smart is a part of the company's major network expansion plan to improve the quality of their service and make the whole country connected.

Most likely, there is also a clear demand from locals and tourist alike.

With Smart's network, subscribers in Batanes will experience better mobile data experience and keep in touch with loved ones via Facebook and other social networking sites.

Way back in 2016, team GIZGUIDE visited Batanes for an event. Internet connection was really slow that time.

Hopefully, Smart can provide decent service in that area.
