As the graph shows, the most searched smartphones are the flagships of the different brands. Huawei P20 appears to top the list followed by the iPhone X, Samsung S9, OnePlus 5T, and lastly, the Sony Xperia XZ2.

But what fuss are these smartphones making that interest people and search them on Google? 

Here are the reasons why people are curious of these flagship mobile phones:

The XZ2

5. Sony Xperia XZ2 - Sony made the Xperia XZ2 in the country on April. It features a 3D glass body, 5.8-inch 4K screen, Snapdragon 845 chip, and S-Force Front surround speakers. It also runs on the latest Androi 8.0 Oreo. 

It boasts a 19MP f/1.8 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS sensor + 12MP f/1.6 monochrome 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS sensor w/ Motion Eye (960 fps), predictive capture, 5-axis stabilization, and LED flash. On its front camera, it is equipped with 13MP f/2.0 1/3.06-inch Exmor RS sensor for selfies.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 is equipped with 6GB RAM, 64GB expandable storage, and 3,540mAh w/ Qnovo Adaptive Charging with Quick Charge 3.0 and Qi Wireless Charging.

4. OnePlus 5T - The OnePlus 5T is tagged as the "flagship killer" when it was launched by the smartphone brand from China. It is the total upgrade of its predecessor, the OnePlus 5.

It has a 6.01-inch FHD+ (2160 x 1080) 18:9 Optic AMOLED screen w/ Sunlight Display coming from just 5.5-inch screen size.

OnePlus 5T features a dual camera setup that includes a 16MP Sony IMX398 + 20MP Sony MX376K w/ PDAF and EIS at f/1.7 aperture size for brighter images, nicer zoom, and lowlight performance.

It is equipped with the Snapdragon 835, up to 8GB RAM, up to 128GB non-expandable storage, and 3,300mAh battery. However, it still shipped with the Android 7.1.1 Nougat instead of the latest Android 8.0 Oreo but was promised to be updated to the Oreo this year. The smartphone is on USB-Type C.

3. Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9+ - Samsung, as expected launched the S9 and S9+ as their flagship phones for 2018.

The Galaxy S9 has the smaller 5.8-inch screen, 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable storage, 3,000mAh battery, and single 12MP (f/1.5 / f/2.4) w/ Dual Pixel, OIS, multi-frame, and dual tone LED flash camera.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S9+ boasts the larger 6.2-inch screen, 6GB RAM, up to 256GB expandable storage, 3,500mAh battery, and dual camera setup. The dual camera setup consist of a 12MP (f/1.5 / f/2.4) primary and a 12 MP f/2.4 telephoto secondary lens. It also has Dual Pixel, Dual OIS, multi-frame, and dual tone LED flash.

Both the cameras of the S9 and S9+ has AR Emoji which can create a 3D avatar that looks like you and can copy your facial expressions. It also has pre-installed cute emoji's that works like Apple's Animoji, but better. For the Galaxy S9+ the Live Focus feature now comes with and "art bokeh" function.

These are the first two phones with up to 2.9GHz 64-bit Exynos 9810 octa-core processor built under the 10 nm FinFET process. It is paired with the Mali-G72 MP18 GPU. In comparison that's higher than the MP12 GPU of the Mate 10 series.

2. Apple iPhone X - This is the anniversary iPhone of the American smartphone company. Since the iPhone 6, the X boasts an all-new design packed with improved specs and cool features. It featured the controversial 'notch' design for the face unlock, camera, and animoji to work.

It is certified IP67 water and dust-resistant. The iPhone X is the first Apple smartphone to have an OLED display.

For its dual camera, it has a 12MP f/1.8 + 12MP f/2.4 w/ 2x optical zoom, OIS, laser AF, PDAF, and quad LED flash. The quad flash of the iPhone X is the best in the market.

For selfies, it has a 7MP camera w/ f/2.2 aperture and screen flash. It still has auto HDR mode and the portrait mode effects.

The new 64-bit Apple A11 Bionic hexa-core processor inside this handset is a beast. It also has 3GB RAM and 64GB and 256GB storage options.

Huawei P20 and P20 Pro - Huawei officially launched the P20 Series in the country last April 28. The top-of-the-line smartphone from the Chinese smartphone brand is the, Huawei P20 Pro, brother to the Huawei P20.


It is the very first smartphone in the world equipped with an interesting and unique triple Leica camera system. It highlights a 40MP RGB + 20MP monochrome + 8MP 3x telephoto lens that works altogether intelligently. The P20 Pro also has a 24MP f/2.0 front camera with A.I. face beauty and 3D portrait lighting.
