Pangilinan-led PLDT Inc. has teamed up with technology giant Google in delivering fast WiFi connectivity in the country through a mesh networking system.
Google's solution to WiFi deadspots!

Dubbed as Google Wifi, PLDT vowed this could address "dead zones at home" providing strong and reliable internet connectivity.

The product extends fast internet to every corner of the house, thus helping users' devices to connect much easier.

WiFi dead spots at home are more common that we think, and mesh networking is a smart and effective fix to these dreaded zones. As the leader in home broadband and the trailblazer in Smart Home solutions in the country, we are thrilled to be Goggle's exclusive local partner for Google Wifi, which has set the standard for ease-of-use, performance and security for mesh networking solutions, said Oscar Reyes, Jr., PLDT and Smart Senior Vice President and Consumer Business Market Development Head.

Mickey Kim, Google's Director of APAC Hardware Product Planning and Partnerships, said Google Wifi solves issues not dead zones but also spotty wifi connections, confusing set-up processes, among others.

It can fit anywhere!

Users can easily manage and control the network through Google Wifi's own mobile app. The app also lets you see the devices connected to the network as well as the bandwidth they are using.

This move of PLDT allowed the Philippines to be one of the first countries in the region to launch Google Wifi.

The telco is introducing this innovation through Google WiFi Plan 3799 for new Home Fibr subscribers with an unlimited 50 megabits per second Fibr connection and three Google wifi points. For existing customers, they can avail of add-on Google WiFi units at Php 299 for the 1-piece set, and PHP 799 for the 3-piece set.
