HMD Global just released the latest addition to their growing smartphone family, the Nokia 2.1 and Nokia 3.1.

The two smartphones are priced under PHP 10,000. But what makes these two special apart from phones at the same price tier?

Nokia 2.1 is a PHP 5,990 smartphone that has a whopping 4,000mAh battery with 10W fast charger that can also be found in the newly-launched Samsung Galaxy Note9 priced at PHP 55,990. It also features a 5.5-inch HD screen with dual front-facing stereo speakers.

It is equipped with the upgraded 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 and runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition). It is coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage expandable up to 128GB via microSD support.  Nokia 2.1 sports a dual front-facing stereo speakers along with the 8MP rear camera with auto-focus and 5MP front-facing selfie snapper.

The Nokia 2.1 has a sophisticated Nordic design with metallic accents. It has a sleek and rounded design with polycarbonate back that has nice ergonomics.

On the other hand, the pricier Nokia 3.1 boasts of a 5.2-inch HD+ 18:9 screen display with 2.5D corning Gorilla Glass 3. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo along with the MediaTek 6750 SoC. It is also coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory expandable up to 128GB via microSD slot.

It sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and 8MP front camera. Nokia also confirmed that the 3.1 has a full set of sensors that are usually only found on premium smartphones. The Nokia 3.1 is also entering the Android One program. It is one of the under PHP 10K smartphones with monthly security updates for three years and OS updates for two years.

Nokia 3.1 retails for PHP 9,990 and has variants of Blue-Copper, Black-Chrome, and White-Iron. While the PHP 5,990 Nokia 2.1 has the Blue-Copper, Blue-Silver, and Grey-Silver color variants.
