According to Apple, it is the "smartest" and "most powerful" chip on a smartphone yet.

It comes with a 6-core CPU with 2 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. Apple claimed that the performance cores are up to 15 percent faster than the A11 Bionic chip and the efficiency cores are up to 50 percent more power efficient.

It also has a new Apple-designed GPU. It has four cores and lossless memory compression to bring big gains in graphics performance to games, video editing, and visually demanding apps.

It also has a 2nd generation 8-core Neural Engine with support for 5 trillion operations per second. It also has Dedicated Machine Learning and Smart Compute System.

This means that the new iPhones can recognize patterns, make predictions, and learn from experience better than the Neural chip last year.

It will also improve the AR experience and more.

Apple also opened the Neural Engine up to the Core ML platform for developers. Now, developers can bring real-time machine learning to their apps.

The new A12 chip also has an updated ISP, the image signal processor for taking better photos. It improved the depth and detail in portrait mode. It also enhanced the dynamic range using its Smart HDR.

Is this the best mobile processor yet?
