One of the key highlights of the new Huawei Mate 20 Pro is its large battery capacity with innovative charging solutions.

In particular, it has 4,200mAh of battery capacity. It is larger than most 2018 flagship phones with under 4,000mAh of juice. Huawei also added the new 40W SuperCharge technology with up to 10V/4A of charging speed.

Then Huawei finally added the wireless charging solution. They even improved it to make it the highest wireless solution right now rated at 15W.

Moreover, the Mate 20 Pro has the world's first reverse charging tech. It will allow Mate 20 Pro users to charge other phones or gadgets with wireless charging support.

Battery performance

Over 14 hours!
Over 14 hours!

Really good! It clocked 14 hours and 16 minutes in our PC Mark work battery test. It is significantly better than the 12 hours and 32 minutes we got last year from the Mate 10 Pro.

It is higher than the Galaxy Note9 with 4,000mAh battery that got 11 hours and 21 minutes.

Actual performance is also great. The average screen on time is around 6 hours. I was also able to use the phone for a more than a day on a single charge.

The crazy part? This phone even has a 2K display. It proved that the new Kirin 980 SoC built under the 7nm FinFET process is a power efficient chip.

Charging speed and capabilities

40W SuperCharge

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is also the company's first phone with a 40W SuperCharge technology with up to 10V/4A of charging speed via USB Type-C. It even has the safe charging certification from TÜV Rheinland.

Huawei promised that you can charge your phone up to 70 percent in 30 minutes.

In our own test, we were able to charge the 4,200mAh battery of the Mate 20 Pro in just 1 hour and 10 minutes.

The battery performance of the Mate 20 is comparable with the Mate 20 Pro too. It has a slightly smaller 4,000mAh battery with 22.5W SuperCharge. Charging time is about the same even if it has the weaker 22.5W SuperCharge since it has slightly lower battery capacity.

The Mate 20 with lesser screen resolution has the slightly longer battery life. But it has the slightly slower charging speed.

In comparison, our iPhone X has over 3 hours of charging time. The charging time of the Note9 is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Wireless charging!
Wireless charging!

Aside from the SuperCharge tech, the Mate 20 Pro has a 15W wireless charging feature. It will allow you to charge your phone on a wireless charging pad.

You can enjoy this feature with the use of Huawei's new wireless charging pod with 15W max output. It goes with stylish/portable design, Qi universal standard compatibility, and multi-layer safety protection.

Yes, no more wires!

All you need to do is drop your phone on the wireless pad and it will automatically charge your Mate 20 Pro even without wires. It can charge your Mate 20 Pro by 31 percent in 30 minutes. Obviously, it is 2x faster than regular 7.5 wireless chargers.

It even has a case compatibility feature which will allow you to enjoy the wireless charging function even with a case. Just make sure that it isn't a metal case.

Note: Huawei's wireless charging pad is priced at PHP 3,990. It will also come with a 40W SuperCharge charger and USB Type-C data/charging cable.

Like what we mentioned earlier, it is also the first device with reverse wireless charging solution.

It is the first phone in the world with reverse wireless charging feature!

It means that you can charge other devices with Qi wireless support.

It will allow you to share your battery to phones like the iPhone 8 or later and Note9.

Importance of a phone with long battery life and fast charging speed

A device with long battery life and fast charging technology will allow you to save time and do more. You won't need to charge your phone every time or wait for hours before you fully charge your phone.

Huawei's SuperCharge technology with 10V/4A and 40W charging is one of the fastest and safest in town. Even their wireless charging pad with 15W charging is arguably the fastest wireless charger right now.
