Yesterday, Xiaomi announced that the new Mi MIX 3 flagship will be available in the Philippines very soon. One of its key highlight are its cameras!

At the back, it has the same cameras at the back coming from the Mi 8. But, it has four cameras in total. You will see two cameras at the back and two more cameras in front.

It has a 12MP f/1.8 Sony IMX363 sensor paired with a 12MP f/2.4 Samsung S5K3M3 sensor w/ Dual Pixel PDAF, OIS, AF, AI, and LED flash. But, Xiaomi improved its software by adding a better software with more AI-assisted features like the night mode.

For selfies, it goes with a 24MP Sony IMX576 sensor and a 2MP OV02A10 DOF sensor w/ AI and Super Pixel technology for lowlight.
103 DxOMark camera score!
The interesting part? It got an even higher DxOMark camera score than Mi 8 even if they have the same rear specs. It is tied with the Note9 and HTC U12 with 103 points.

Quick thoughts
The Mi MIX 3 gave us images with a lot of details, great color accuracy, and wide dynamic range. It even produced one of the best looking bokeh shot I've seen taken with a smartphone.
The lowlight shot I got has some grain, but that's normal for a near pitch black condition. But, when its AI detects that it needs to use the night mode, it will shoot multiple photos and stitch it together for a sharper shot with better colors and exposure.
The selfie camera can can produce impressive looking images with without over beautifying your face. The bokeh selfie shot I got is even close to natural looking with decent edge detection.
Right off the bat, this is the most impressive Mi camera phone yet. It is not perfect, but it can go toe-to-toe even with other top camera phones from Samsung, Huawei, HTC, and Apple.
