OPPO to introduce a new camera tech with up to 10x lossless zoom!

Leaks of patent sketches revealed that OPPO is currently working on a smartphone camera design which sports 10x lossless zoom.

The sketches showed that the handset will feature a full screen design with a triple-camera setup at the back. There's another sketch showing the back of the phone with a dual-camera.

Both of those phones are expected to produce 10x lossless zoom. We just do not know yet if it is a hybrid zoom (digital + optical) or purely optical. Most likely, this new camera tech will be aided by AI as well.

It could be the enhanced or more defined version of the 5x hybrid zoom prototype that they showcased last MWC 2017. It uses a periscope-style lens array that runs horizontally along the top of device which enables near lossless type of optically stabilized zoom.

Currently, Huawei (OPPO's competitor) has up to 5x hybrid zoom found on the P20 and Mate 20 series.

According to rumors, these OPPO smartphones are the F19 and F19 Pro. Those devices could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 or a very interesting MediaTek Helio P90 AI chipset.

If these leaks are rumors are true, the alleged upcoming F19/F19 Pro are shaping up to be promising mid-range smartphones. It could give them an advantage in the zoom camera game as well.
