A game-changing chip for always connected PCs?

Based on its specs, the Snapdragon 8cx platform is a promising chip for PC. It sports the new Kyro 495 octa-core CPU. According to Qualcomm, it is their fastest yet. It is also paired with the Adreno 680 GPU to handset graphics-intensive tasks.

Since it is based on the 7nm process, Hexagon 690, and 4th Generation Qualcomm AI Engine, the chipset is also designed for speed yet better batter battery efficiency.


Qualcomm even claimed that it is only using a fraction of the power versus other solutions from other brands.

It also has the Snapdragon X24 LTE modem for 5G connectivity, the same modem found on the Snapdragon 855. It even has complete WiFi standards like the Multi-gigabit WiFi.

It is built for the next generation always on and connected PCs.

In addition, the chip also has the Qualcomm Spectra 390 image signal processor, dual 4K external display support, USB 3.1 with Quick Charge 4+ support, Bluetooth 5.0, Qualcomm Aqstic audio technology for Hi-Res Bluetooth audio, and GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, Galileo, QZSS, and SBAS satellite systems.

Availability

The Snapdragon 8cx is expected to ship in Q3 of 2019!
