Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 with 6.26-inch waterdrop screen is official

In Vietnam, Huawei recently launched the Huawei Y7 Pro 2019. It's the latest selfie-centric entry-level smartphone of the Chinese tech giant with a waterdrop notch.

The Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 highlights a glossy 3D glass-like back design in aurora blue gradient or black color. In front, it has a large 6.26-inch 2.5D screen with tall 19:9 screen aspect ratio and a tiny halo notch. It has slim top and side bezels. The chin bezel which has the Huawei logo is a bit better than expected though.

Inside, it is powered by the 14nm 1.8GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor with Adreno 506 GPU. It also comes with 3GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage up to 500GB, and large 4,000mAh battery with micro USB charging.

Most smartphones with the power efficient Snapdragon 450 and 4,000mAh battery that we tested in the past can last for more than a day on a single charge.

Moving to the cameras, the Y7 Pro 2019 is equipped with a dual-camera setup at the back and a single camera in front. It goes with a 13MP f/1.8 + 2MP f/2.4 shooters at the back with Master AI and LED flash. Its AI can detect up to 500 subjects in 22 different categories.

We just do not know yet if it has the AIS Super Night Mode found on the Y9 2019 and higher.

Selfie-centric entry-level smartphone

For selfies, you will find a 16MP shooter with auto-tweaking feature to deliver "perfect" photos. As expected, the it comes with a face unlock tech as well.

It has no fingerprint scanner though.

Price and availability

It is now available in Vietnam for VND 3,990,000 (around PHP 9K).

We do not know yet if it will be available globally yet. Maybe it can replace the aging Huawei Nova 2 lite in the Philippines.
