Samsung x Xiaomi for 108MP!
Samsung revealed that it uses a 1/1.33-inch sensor size that is 125 percent bigger than the 48MP ISOCELL Bright GM1. It retained the 0.8μm pixel, but with Tetracell technology (pixel binning), it can produce 27MP photos with 1.6μm pixel size.

The camera phone sensor of the future? |
Samsung said that this sensor can produce "exceptional photos even in extreme lighting conditions".
It goes with the Smart-ISO tech, a mechanism that selects the level of amplifier gains according to the illumination and switched to a low ISO to "improve the pixel saturation and produce vivid photographs".
The 108MP Bright HMX sensor also supports up to 6K 6016 x 3384 resolution recordings at 30fps.
According to Samsung, the mass production of the sensor is expected to start by the end of August.
For ISOCELL Bright HMX, Xiaomi and Samsung have worked closely together from the early conceptual stage to production that has resulted in a groundbreaking 108MP image sensor. We are very pleased that picture resolutions previously available only in a few top-tier DSLR cameras can now be designed into smartphones, said Lin Bin, co-founder and president of Xiaomi. As we continue our partnership, we anticipate bringing not only new mobile camera experiences but also a platform through which our users can create unique content.
The first phone to have it is a Xiaomi phone. Most likely, it will be the Mi MIX 4 that is expected to launch in October.
