Smart subscribers can now make purchases in their App Store, Apple Music, and iTunes using their Smart Prepaid load or Smart Postpaid bill. This hassle-free form of payment was designed to meet the Filipino customer’s need for digital entertainment. This demand was elaborated by Smart SVP and Head of Individual Consumer Business, “For the longest time, the need for a credit or debit card has kept many Filipinos from maximizing the full potential of their iOS devices. By introducing Smart Carrier Billing, we are eliminating this barrier and therefore empowering our customers to truly embrace the digital lifestyle with easy access to millions of paid iOS apps and digital content at their fingertips.

How to pay with Smart Carrier Billing?

The first step for the subscribers is to make sure they either have a new or existing Apple ID, then choose “Mobile Phone” as their payment method from their account settings on App Store, Apple Music, and iTunes. Once they selected “Mobile Phone”, their future purchases will be automatically included as part of the monthly Smart Postpaid bill. For prepaid users, their Smart Prepaid load will have a straight deduction. 

This new payment option is said to be secured since there’s no sharing of personal information with any third parties. Also, it can be conveniently set-up for one-tap purchases for all Apple devices, including Apple TV and Apple Watch. Purchases of apps music, movies, TV shows, as well as Apple Music subscriptions and iCloud storage are covered.
