iQOO Pro and Pro 5G gaming-grade phones announced

In an event today, Vivo's sub-brand iQOO released its pair of top-of-the-line smartphones, the iQOO Pro and iQOO Pro 5G.

Both devices use a 4D curved glass back design with a glow that is said to be inspired by a race car. The devices also have four pressure-sensitive buttons and vibration feedback optimized to mimick physical buttons.

The phones come with 6.41-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, tiny notch, 91.7 percent of screen-to-body ratio, and an In-Display fingerprint scanner.

Under the hood, the phones are powered by the 7nm 64-bit Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core processor with Adreno 640 GPU. It also goes with liquid cooling along with superconducting carbon fiber and temperature equalizing plate for improved heat dissipation.

Both also have 4,500mAh battery with ultra-fast USB-C 44W fast charging.

At the back, the phones are equipped with a 48MP f/1.79 Sony IMX582 main cam + 13MP f/2.2 120-degree ultra-wide secondary camera + 2MP f/2.4 depth third sensor.

For selfies, the devices have a 12MP f/2.0 shooter with Dual Pixel focus technology.

The phones also go with 3.5mm headphone jack slot, AK4377A HiFi DAC, WiFi, Bluetooth 5, NFC, and GPS.

The iQOO Pro has 4G connectivity while the iQOO Pro 5G obviously has 5G connectivity.

The devices run with Android 9.0 OS with Funtouch OS 9 skin.

iQOO highlights that the phones have halo cool lighting effect 2.0 lets you choose lighting effect color, mode, frequency, and more.

Vivo iQOO Pro and Pro 5G measures at 155.77 x 75.73 x 9.325 mm. The 4G and 5G variants weigh at 215 and 217 grams, respectively.

Vivo iQOO Pro and iQOO Pro 5G come in Black and Blue colors. iQOO's price starts at CNY 3,198 (around PHP 23.6K). iQOO Pro 5G starts at CNY 3,798 (around PHP 28.5K).

The devices will be available for pre-order in China August 29. It will retail from September 2.
