Huawei Mate 30 series lands in PH, pre-order details revealed!

A week back, Huawei revealed the local price tags of the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro in the Philippines. Today, the Chinese tech giant has formally launched the new phones in the country.

As a quick recap, the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro are two of the newest flagship Android phones of Huawei. Both are equipped with faster and more intelligent 2.86GHz 64-bit Kirin 990 octa-core processor with Big-Core + Tiny-Core NPU and Mali-G76 MP16 GPU with new-generation GPU Turbo tech for gaming.

Halo Ring design

At PHP 34,990, the Huawei Mate 30 is the more affordable of the two. It boasts a "Halo Ring" back design inspired from a Leica camera, a large 6.62-inch FHD+ screen with an improved In-Display fingerprint scanner, 8GB RAM/128GB storage, 4,200mAh battery with 40W SuperCharge and 27W Wireless SuperCharge + Reverse Wireless Charging, and the 40MP Leica triple-camera setup.

On the other hand, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro is the more exciting machine. It is equipped with a similar-looking "Halo Ring" design, but it has a 6.47-inch 88-degree curved Horizon Display with FHD+ 18.4:9 aspect ratio. That display also has Virtual Volume Tuner on either sides of the curved-screen since it doesn't have a physical volume key anymore.

It also has a larger 256GB storage and 4,500mAh battery capacity with 40W SuperCharge + 27W Wireless SuperCharge + Reverse Wireless Charging.

For the primary cameras, it goes with a total of four at the back. It highlights a 40MP f/1.6 SuperSensing w/ OIS + 40MP f/1.8 SuperSensing Cine Camera + 8MP f/2.4 3x Optical Zoom w/ OIS + 3D Depth Sensing Camera w/ PDAF and CAF, and dual-tone LED flash w/ Color Temperature sensor.

Huawei boasts that it has ISO 409600, 45x Zooming Range (Ultra Wide, 3x Optical, 30x Digital), Pro-Bokeh, Dual OIS + AIS Image Stabilization, 4K 60fps video support, 7,680fps at 720p, 4K time-lapse with HDR+ colors, and up to ISO 52,000 for low light video shooting.

For selfies, you get a 32MP f/2.0 shooter + 3D Depth Sensing Camera.
