Redmi Note 8 with unfair specs for the price arrives in the Philippines

One of the most talked-about budget phones of 2019 has just been launched in the Philippines, the Redmi Note 8.

A new monster phone for the price!

Why and how? It builds upon the success of the Redmi Note 7. Like the Note 7, Xiaomi equipped it with competition obliterating specs for the price. It now has improved specs and even more cameras than ever.

Large display with a tiny notch

Redmi Note 8 uses a 2.5D curved glass material at the back with P2i water-resistance coating and a slightly larger 6.39-inch panel with FHD+ resolution and a small dot drop notch.

Under the hood, it is now using the 11nm 2.0GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 665 AIE octa-core processor from Snapdragon 660. SD665 is paired with Adreno 610 GPU for better gaming performance.

It also has up to 4GB RAM, up to 128GB expandable storage, and a large 4,000mAh battery capacity with USB-C 18W fast charging support.

A lot of cameras at the back

For the cameras, it has a total of four cameras at the back. It uses a 48MP f/1.8 Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM2 w/ PDAF, EIS + 8MP f/2.2 120-degree ultra wide-angle + 2MP f/2.4 2cm macro + 2MP f/2.4 depth w/ LED flash.

The rest is similar to the Redmi Note 7. It still has the 16MP f/2.0 selfie shooter, rear-facing fingerprint scanner, IR Blaster, 3.5mm headphone slot, Smart PA amp, dual-band WiFi, 4G LTE, and dual SIM slots.

Xiaomi also said that it has an improved speaker with auto cleaning speaker mode.
