In a statement by George Royeca, chief transport advocate of Angkas, published on the bike hailing app's Facebook account, 17,000 riders are at risk of losing their jobs as its technical working group (TWG) decreases its cap to 10,000.

From 27,000 in the six months of its pilot run, Angkas' cap has been reduced to 10,000 following a new imposition that will see new players JoyRide and Move It entering the game.

In the statement, Royeca underlined the quality of service Angkas has been providing since 2017. He reiterated the training and riding security its riders have exemplified in the last few years.
Angkas appeals to the public to join them in helping their bikers keep their jobs.
