OPPO APAC landing project announced, partners with Globe to accelerate 5G growth in PH

After Europe, OPPO has announced its 5G Landing Project for the APAC (Asia-Pacific) region at the APAC Hub Center launch in Malaysia.

It aims to accelerate the development of 5G in the region in collaboration with the top operators from the APAC countries.

OPPO and its partners will promote the implementation of 5G products and services, and empower new 5G use cases for consumers, and connect new industries to 5G. Basically, the landing project will help in making 5G commercially available in the region.

Globe is the 5G technology partner of OPPO in the Philippines

One of the partners of OPPO is Globe Telecom from the Philippines. To recall, Globe is the first to launch 5G in Southeast Asia and the OPPO Landing Project will help them speed up the growth of 5G in the country.

It is in line with the company's goal of bringing the first-world internet to the Philippines.

During the event, GfK shared that most areas in the APAC region will launch 5G in Q2 2020.

180 million 5G phones that will be shipped worldwide in 2020 and 130 million are dedicated to the APAC region alone.

OPPO also said that it will launch multiple IoT devices for home and more and be more prepared for the age of 5G connectivity.

As a quick recap, 5G is the fifth generation wireless networking architecture designed to power future homes and devices with ultra-high-speed mobile internet connectivity.

5G will be very useful for immersive latency-free AR content, mobile cloud gaming with improved graphics, real-time video calls, super-connected autonomous cars, smart communities, industrial IoT, immersive education, remote medical surgery capabilities, and more.
