Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu revealed that the Globe At Home Air Fiber 5G will enable the company to connect more Filipinos at home given the external challenges of rolling out fiber optic cables in the country. The arrival of 5G has caused excitement in the global world of telecommunications. Huawei is currently under fire due to the spying allegations by the US government, which the company denies.
But, Globe said they hired independent first to ensure that its security protocols are up to date.
Recently, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Assistant Secretary for Cybersecurity Allan Cabanlong also said there was no hard evidences yet that Huawei uses its products to conduct illegal cyber activities.

Ookla's May 2019 Speedtest Global Index showed that the Philippines ranks 107th among 178 countries in terms of fixed broadband speed at 19.55 megabits per second (Mbps) versus the global average of 59.6 Mbps. PH ranks 107th (among 140 countries) in terms of mobile internet speed at 15.10 Mbps, nearly half of the 27.22 Mbps global average.
With the launch of 5G, we can hope for better and more stable internet soon.
