Earlier, we have had a chance to grab a hold of the new Galaxy S20 Ultra, Samsung's most powerful smartphone yet packed with monster cameras on paper.

Ultra-wide to 100x zoom |
The first with 100x digital zoom!
It is the company's first smartphone with a quad-camera system highlighting the 108MP f/1.8 primary camera with Dual Pixel and OIS, 12MP f/2.2 secondary camera with 120-degree ultra-wide-angle, 48MP f/3.5 third camera with w/ 10x Hybrid Optic Zoom and OIS, and a ToF fourth camera. It can do high-resolution photos and up to 8K videos.
One of its most attractive features is the jaw-dropping zoom range. With the help of its 108MP high-resolution camera and the 48MP 10x zoom periscope camera, it can shoot up to 100x digital zoom.
Currently, that's the highest among all the camera phones in the market right now.
Out of curiosity, we decided to see how much difference in zoom range it has versus other smartphones with "superzoom" technology in the Philippines.
Note: I would like to remind you that this is still a pre-production unit, which means it could still change when the retail units come.
Here's the image we got:

Moon shot zoom range of Galaxy S20 Ultra versus OPPO Reno 10x zoom, Huawei P30 Pro, and Xiaomi Mi Note 10 |
Since the Galaxy S20 Ultra that we tested yesterday is still a pre-production unit, you can see that its quality is still not as refined as expected.
But, you can see how much difference it has versus the likes of the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom with 60x digital zoom and Huawei P30 Pro/Xiaomi Mi Note 10 with up to 50x digital zoom.

The potential is there and I really hope that once the commercial unit is out with a more updated camera software, it can beat the zoom image quality of the 3 other phones we have here.
What do you guys think?
