Redmi Note 9S launched in Malaysia, comes with SD720G and 48MP quad-cam

On schedule, Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi has launched the Redmi Note 9S in Malaysia. Based on specs and design, it has a lot of similarities to the Redmi Note 9 Pro in India.

At the back, the Redmi Note 9S boasts a smooth 3D curved glass with 20 color process to achieve the glossy premium look available in Interstellar Black, Aurora Blue, and Glacier White colorways.

It also has a unique-looking square camera hump to house the 48MP f/1.79 Samsung ISOCELL GM2 w/ PDAF, EIS + 8MP 119-degree ultra-wide-angle + 5MP f/2.4 2cm macro + 2MP f/2.4 depth quad-camera system.

In front, it also has the 20:9 cinematic 6.67-inch Tiny DoyDisplay with FHD+ resolution with TÜV Rheinland certification. Inside the punch-hole, you'll see a 16MP camera.

To keep the device protected, Xiaomi claimed that its front, back, and camera lens cover are protected by Gorilla Glass 5. It also has a water splash resistance to protect the phone from accidental water damage.

Under the hood, it runs with the 8nm Snapdragon 720G octa-core processor, 6GB LPDDR4X RAM, 64GB or 128GB storage, and 5,020mAh battery with USB-C 18W fast charging.

For security, you'll find a side-mounted fingerprint reader that doubles as the power button.

Xiaomi said that it has improved its speaker and it is now 30 percent louder audio with 80 percent increase in bass response than its previous-gen speakers.

The 4GB/64GB Redmi Note 9S is priced at RM 799 or around PHP 9.1K. The 6GB/128GB version costs RM 899 or around PHP 10.3K out of straight conversion.
