Unilab's donations reaches almost PHP 1B to support the fight against COVID-19

To help in the fight against COVID-19, Unilab Inc. has donated medicines, medical equipment, PPEs, and relief packages amounting to almost PHP 1B.

The pharmaceutical giant has been cooperating with different government bureaus, LGUs, and civil organizations in order to distribute the medical supplies.

Both public and private hospitals received medicine and vitamins worth PHP 317M and basic PPE kits with alcohol worth PHP 45M. Meanwhile, 50 million pesos were allocated to support the COVID-19 test development kit.

Frontliners were also given enough protection as Unilab donated coveralls, isolation gowns, face shields, N95 and surgical masks, gloves, and shoe covers amounting to PHP 192 M. Ventilators worth PHP 11 million were also installed to those hospitals that were converted to COVID centers by DOH. 

Unilab also provided support to the underprivileged citizens as it handed out the basic goods and commodities and/or cash vouchers that cost PHP 50 million.

Last but not the least, it is currently in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology, UP-National Institutes of Health and other government and private institutions to strongly improve the country’s capacity to do testing.

Through a Facebook advisory, the company shares this activity to its employees and partners. It added a short message:

Tulad ninyo, kami ay nakikipag-bayanihan upang magbigay ng tulong sa ating mga kababayan at frontliners. Sama-sama nating labanan ang panganib na dulot ng COVID-19.

Unilab has delivered PHP 665 million worth of donations to its partner-institutions based on the tally. This is projected to increase as the firm responds to the pleas and requests of frontliners.
