Let's begin!
Unboxing/Accessories
Inside the box |
For those interested, the company is also offering wired and wireless earphones called the realme Buds 2 and the Buds Air. Both are sold separately.
Build Quality/Design
Neat back design |
realme steps up its build quality with the X series and this continues with the new X3 SuperZoom with materials glass and polycarbonate. Both the front and the back glass panel are Gorilla Glass 5 protected while the polycarbonate frame has a texture and color that look and feel almost metal.
You only notice that the frame is polycarbonate after grasping it for an extended period of time. There's no mention of water splash resistance.
To help dissipate heat, realme included a Liquid Cooling solution as well.
The back highlights the vertically-aligned quad-camera module starring the 64MP main camera and the 8MP 5x periscope camera. This tech allows the phone to do up to 5x optical zoom and up to 60x digital zoom. Also, realme boasts that it has Starry Mode to capture galaxy shots, UIS & UIS Max stabilization, and 960fps Slo-Mo.
Large 120Hz screen |
In front is the large 6.6-inch, 120Hz, display at 2400 x 1800 resolution. It is surrounded by the slim top and side bezels and a thicker chin bezel that gives the phone a 90.5 percent screen to body ratio. There is a pill-shaped punch hole on the top left side.
Large screen with extra smooth 120Hz refresh rate!
On top of the display is a pre-installed screen protector with a cut out for the front-facing cameras. The screen protector is noticeably thicker than the screen protector on the realme 6; however, the edges of the screen protector are noticeably sharper than we would like.
The white colorway review unit we got has a beautiful pearl-like effect where depending on how the light hits the back panel, different shades of color shine brightly. On the top left of the back is the rear camera module. While at the bottom left side is the realme logo.
32MP + 8MP selfie camera |
On top of the display is the earpiece that is only used for calls and not as a second speaker of stereo. The top and side bezels are consistently thin while the bottom bezel is noticeably thicker.
While on the top left side is the pill-shaped punch-hole with the dual-front facing cameras.
Inside the pill-shaped punch-hole are the 32MP main + 8MP ultra-wide dual-cam. It also has a Nightscape mode for selfies and 120fps Slo-Mo.
Top and bottom |
The top of the realme X3 SuperZoom is the microphone port with chamfered finishings while at the bottom are the SIM tray, microphone port, USB Type-C, and speaker grill. There's no headphone jack though.
Left and right sides |
On the left side are the volume up and volume down buttons while at the right side is the power button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner.
The SIM tray at the bottom has slots for two nano-SIM cards.
Powering the device is a large 4,200mAh battery with 30W Dart Charge in a chassis that measures 163.8 x 75.8 x 8.9 mm and weighs just 202 grams.
The matte finish polycarbonate frame of the realme X3 SuperZoom makes it easy to hold while giving enough heft to the hand.
Overall, it has great build quality with a beautiful design for the price.

As of the moment
Strong AnTuTu score |
As of writing, realme has yet to reveal the exact SRP of the realme X3 SuperZoom. Hopefully, it will be below the PHP 25K range. The review unit we received is the 12GB RAM/256GB UFS 3.0 storage model.
If realme Philippines continues to price the X3 SuperZoom like the rest of their line then the X3 SuperZoom could be an amazing value because of Snapdragon 855+ (that scored nearly 500K in AnTuTu), 8GB/12GB RAM, 128GB/256GB UFS 3.0 storage, 120Hz display, USB Type-C 30W Dart Charge, Hi-Res audio, and the 60x periscope zoom camera.
Out of the box, the realme X3 SuperZoom is a powerhouse, we just hope that it is priced in value in mind.
