Earlier today, network giant GMA 7 has formally unveiled the GMA Affordabox Digital TV Receiver on its 70th anniversary.

To recall, the GMA Affordabox is the company's PHP 888 plug-and-play Digital TV Receiver designed to receive digital signals for clear and better picture quality when connected to your existing analog TV.

In celebration of this milestone of reaching seven colorful decades in the industry, we are more than grateful for the Filipinos’ continued trust in GMA Network as we reaffirm our commitment to deliver excellence in news and entertainment. Kaya naman, kasabay ng ika-70 anibersaryo ng inyong Kapuso Network, buong puso naming inihahandog sa inyo ang high-quality at abot-kayang digital TV receiver na Para Sa Pilipino—ang GMA Affordabox.

It is the company's answer to rival's ABS-CBN TVplus five years since its release.

Currently, the DTV receiver comes with Kapuso channels such as GMA, GMA News TV, and Heart of Asia. Heart of Asia is the channel with Tagalized telenovelas and dramas.

Also, the device highlights a Multimedia Player, Personal Video Recorder, Functional Auto-On Alert Feature, Digital Display, and Info Display Enabled.

It also has a Nationwide Emergency Warning Broadcast System (EWBS) where users can receive alerts and other relevant information about a pertinent disaster in your city or municipality. There's a Functional Auto-On Alert Feature which automatically turns on to deliver an incoming emergency warning.
