OPPO A72 5G with Dimensity 720 SoC now official

OPPO just launched the 5G-ready version of the A72 in China.

One of the most affordable OPPO phones with 5G yet

The new OPPO A72 is powered by the new 2.0GHz 7nm MediaTek Dimensity 720 with Mali-G57 MC3 GPU and a dedicated 5G SA/NSA at sub-6GHz modem.

Basically, this chip is superior to the aging 11nm Snapdragon 665 SoC found on the 4G A72 edition.

At the back, the phone goes with the Simple Black, Neon, and Oxygen Violet colorways.

The handset also sports a 6.5-inch LCD IPS screen with FHD+ 2400 x 1080 resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and a punch-hole for the 8MP selfie camera.

A72 5G is paired with 8GB RAM, 128GB expandable storage via microSD slot, 4,040mAh battery with USB-C 18W fast charging, and 16MP main + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP depth triple-cam in a square camera bump with the LED flash.

Like the 4G A72, it also has a stereo speaker setup, 3.5 mm audio jack, Hi-Res audio, Dirac audio, side-mounted fingerprint reader, WiFi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, GPS, and dual SIM slots.

The handset runs with Android 10 OS with ColorOS 7.2 skin.

China price with direct to PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):

In China, the handset retails for CNY 1,899 (around PHP 13.5K) and will be on sale on July 31, 2020.
