Spotify rolls out sing-along feature to 26 countries including the Philippines

Spotify recently rolled out its real-time lyrics feature to countries in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and India.

Now, you don't have to guess or search for the lyrics on the internet while singing along your favorite song as you stream via Spotify. Users can access them by tapping the "lyrics" card at the bottom of the service’s "Now Playing" screen. The new feature uses lyrics provided by Musixmatch, and will be shown in the song’s language. Take a look below: 

Spotify's sing-along feature now in the Philippines

Spotify has previously worked with Musixmatch before breaking the bond with the company in 2016. That same year, Spotify started working with Genius on its "Behind the Lyrics" feature, which gives background information about select tracks, alongside the lyrics themselves. It’s an interesting feature, but this background information gets in the way if you just want to sing along with a song. This new real-time lyrics should be a much better fit for karaoke sessions. 

The following countries' users are experiencing this latest feature of Spotify:

11. Guatemala

12. Honduras

14. Nicaragua

15. Panama

19. Vietnam

20. Philippines

21. Indonesia

22. Malaysia

23. Thailand

24. Taiwan

25. Singapore

26. Hong Kong

Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Mexico previously included some lyrics support from other providers, as does Japan. There's no word yet if or when this feature will expand to more countries around the world.

Let's be thankful that the Philippines get to experience this latest feature along with the 25 other countries.
