It added that users only need to upgrade their devices to 5G-capable smartphones to experience faster connections.

Currently, the telco has deployed the technology to cover Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Valero Street in Makati, Rockwell Center, and Gen. Malvar in Ortigas.

Initially, for its Platinum customers, Globe announced the availability of a 5G mobile network in February of this year, subsequently introducing 5G smartphones like Samsung S20 Ultra, Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G, Huawei P40, and Huawei Nova 7 SE.

The availability of mid-priced 5G enabled devices lets more Filipinos experience the game-changing connectivity of 5G. As we continue to grow and expand our network, we also aim to bring a wider range of 5G-enabled devices in order to enable Filipinos to recreate a better tomorrow, Globe VP for Strategic Platforms and Partnerships Coco Domingo previously said.

The network is expected to cover more areas, and even places outside Metro Manila beginning 2021.
