MediaTek outs Dimensity 700—a 7nm 5G chip for budget smartphones!

At the MediaTek Virtual Executive Summit 2020, the Taiwanese chipmaker unleashed the Dimensity 700—a 7nm 5G chip for budget smartphones!

In particular, MediaTek said that the Dimensity 700 aims to bring advanced 5G capabilities and experiences to the mass market.

It's an octa-core chip built from the 7nm manufacturing process that uses 2x Cortex-A76 big cores with up to 2.2GHz clock speed, 6x Cortex-A55 efficiency cores clocked at 2.0GHz, and the ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.

For 5G, it has up to 2CC 5G-CA and 5G dual SIM dual standby (DSDS) support as well as the 5G-exclusive Voice over new Radio (VoNR) services.

It also has the MediaTek 5G UltraSave, an advanced power-saving tech to improve battery life which includes UltraSave Network Environment Detection, UltraSave OTA Content Awareness, Dynamic BWP, and Connected Mode DRX to intelligently manage the 5G connection on your device.

It also supports up to 2133MHz LPDDR4X RAM, up to UFS 2.2 fast storage that is 4x faster than eMMC, and up to 90Hz extra-smooth refresh rate screens.

Dimensity 700 also has up to 64MP camera support with AI-bokeh, AI-color, and AI-beauty features. MediaTek also highlights that it has hardware-based imaging accelerators that enable multi-frame noise reduction for high-quality shots with low noise even at night

The chip also comes with Multiple Voice Assistant Support for Alibaba, Amazon, Baidu, Google, and Tencent.

The Dimensity 700 has an impressive mix of 5G connectivity features, advanced camera capabilities like night shot enhancements and multiple voice assistant support, all in a super power-efficient design.

MediaTek hasn't specified when will it be available. But, we can expect that to be very soon.
