Rumors hint that a new sensor, IMX789, will be manufactured for the Find X3 series from OPPO. It will be set to be available to other phone manufacturers at a later date according to the rumors.

Sony and OPPO seem to have maintained a strong partnership ever since the OPPO Find X2 Pro sported the IMX689 sensor. This is a 48MP f/1.7 sensor with a Quad Bayer filter, 25mm focal length, and a 1/1.43-inch size.

The IMX789 may be a direct follow-up to the IMX689. It could improve upon the IMX689's features and may even be a 108MP sensor as well. This could be a big leap for the Find X3 series who previously only had 48MP.

It is not known if the new IMX789 sensor will only be present for the Pro or Plus version of the Find X3 series. Again, as with all rumors, take this with a grain of salt since details and validity can change over time.
