OnePlus reveals OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro's design ahead of launch

Ahead of its March 23 confirmed launch date, OnePlus earlier shared the official image renders of the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro on its official social media pages.

It shows that earlier leaks are accurate. Both phones will arrive with a frosted curved glass back with a camera setup highlighting Hasselblad's branding.

OnePlus 9 will come in Winter Mist purple-like colorway with a triple-camera setup while the OnePlus 9 Pro highlights the Morning Mist silver-like color and quad-cameras at the back.

In front, the OnePlus 9 Pro features a tall curved display with a single left-aligned punch-hole housing the selfie camera.

On its launch page, OnePlus used the "Your Best Shot" tagline solidifying its focus on photography.

This is the first time that Hasselblad, a premium maker of medium format cameras, will partner with a mobile brand. So, the expectations are high.

OnePlus earlier revealed that a part of its plan is to invest over USD 150 million in the next 3 years to further improve its mobile imaging technology for the next 3 years.

The new OnePlus 9 series will feature a new color solution called "Natural Color Calibration with Hasselblad". The series will carry a custom Sony IMX789 sensor with 12-bit RAW support that brings up to 64-times more colorful than previous cameras.

The phones are expected to be powered by the 5nm Snapdragon 888 Mobile Platform from Qualcomm.
