Samsung DeX is a software platform that extends Samsung smartphones or tablets into the desktop computing experience. Back in 2017, a docking accessory was required to power the experience and to connect to peripherals. In 2020, Samsung has developed the technology to the point where it can connect wirelessly to Smart TVs and monitors thru Miracast. This new wireless version debuted with the Galaxy Note20 series.

XDA Developers reports that Samsung has recently listed the new Smart Keyboard Trio 500 on the company's Levant website. This new keyboard comes in black and white colorways and uses 78 laptop-like chiclet keys. The design is very similar to the Apple Magic Keyboard.

Like other compact and portable Bluetooth keyboards, the Samsung Smart Keyboard Trio 500 can connect up to three devices and save those connections. This means that the user does not need to re-pair with every single time they use the keyboard with another device.

Samsung has also added customizable secondary functions to the F1, F2, and F3 buttons. This means that users can choose which app to that launches with each corresponding Function button. While the F12 button has a dedicated open 'DeX' secondary function. These added keyboard function only works with devices with One UI 3.1

The Keyboard connects via Bluetooth 5.0 and is powered by two Triple-A batteries. The body measures 280.4 x 127.4 x 15.4 mm and weighs 412.3 grams.

The company is expected to launch new laptops at the event.

There are no price and availability details yet of the Smart Keyboard Trio 500 on Samsung's website.
