HONOR Play5 with Dimensity 800U and 66W fast charge now official

HONOR earlier launch its newest mid-range 5G-ready smartphone in China—the Play5.

This device is boasting a gradient glass back design in Purple and Black, a 6.5-inch OLED screen with FHD+ resolution with a waterdrop notch housing the 16MP selfie camera.

Since it has 5G, it uses a 5G-ready chip. In particular, this handset is equipped with MediaTek's 2.4GHz Dimensity 800U octa-core processor with the Mali-G57 MC3 GPU, APU for AI, and built-in 5G modem. This is paired with 8GB RAM, up to 256GB storage, and a 3,800mAh battery with a 66W fast wired charging that can fully charge the device from 0 to 100 percent in 35 minutes.

For cameras, it uses a 64MP main shooter paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth completing the quad-camera configuration.

The device also has WiFi, 5G, 4G LTE, GPS, and dual SIM slots. This runs with Magic UI 4.0 based on Android 10 OS with no GMS out of the box.

China price with direct to PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):

HONOR Play5 256GB - CNY 2,299 (around PHP 17K)

It will be on sale from May 26 in China. There's no word yet if HONOR will release a version for the international market.
