Huawei MateBook 16 was officially announced today with a 16-inch screen, AMD Ryzen 5000-series APUs, and a sleek and light design.

For starters, the Huawei MateBook 16 boasts a modern look with a nearly bezel-less screen, dual speakers facing the user, a backlit keyboard with a fingerprint sensor on the power button, and a wide glass touchpad.

For the screen, it has a 16-inch IPS screen with a 2,520 x 1680 resolution, 3:2 aspect ratio, 8 bit + FRC HDR support, 100 percent sRGB coverage, DeltaE<1, 1,500:1 contrast ratio, and 300 nits brightness.

Inside, it has up to an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H CPU with 8 cores and 16 threads, Radeon Vega GPU, 16GB dual-channel RAM, and a 512GB NVMe SSD. The CPUs will be 7nm parts based on the Zen 3 architecture that has a TDP of 45W. A 54W performance mode is available and activatable by pressing Fn + P.

For cooling, it has a dual-fan solution with two 2mm heat pipes. There's the heat sink with the shark fin design backed by 2 x 75mm fans. There are 2 x USB-C ports, 2 x USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports, a full-size HDMI, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. What's missing is a dedicated Ethernet port and SD card reader but WiFi 6 is present for fast connectivity.

There's a 135W USB-C charger included in the box that supports Huawei SuperCharge technology. This is enough to fast charge the 84WHr battery with temperature monitors to cut off charging if it ever gets too hot.

China price with direct to PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):

It is now in pre-order in China. Local availability and pricing are yet to be confirmed but we will update you as soon as we get more information.
