Samsung Galaxy S20 FE SD865 variant arrives in the Philippines, priced at PHP 27,990!

On Facebook, Samsung earlier announced that a new version of the Galaxy S20 FE is now available in the Philippines.

Samsung finally admitted that the Snapdragon 865 is a better chip than Exynos 990

Instead of sporting the Samsung-made Exynos 990 SoC, this variant of the Galaxy S20 FE is packed with the Snapdragon 865—the same chip that the South Korean firm used on its US versions.

Samsung said that the Galaxy S20 FE now has an upgraded SD865 chip coming from Exynos 990

In its post, Samsung also appears to finally admit that the Snapdragon 865 is a better chip than Exynos 990 after claiming that the two chips have a similar performance last year.

Apart from the change of chip, Samsung is also dropping its price tag. From PHP 32,990, it is now priced at PHP 27,990.

To recap, the Galaxy S20 FE Exynos 990 is originally priced at PHP 35,990.

In our review, we claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is a "bang-for-the-buck" Samsung flagship of 2020. In 2021, we believe that it is still a pretty good premium device.
