PLDT Smart Omega unveils new roster for MPL PH

PLDT Smart Omega has unveiled its roster for the MPL PH season 8.

In Smart Omega's virtual conference the franchise team has welcomed the former members of the Execration  Billy Jazha "Z4pnu" Alfonso, Renz Errol "Renzio" Cadua, Kiel Vj "Kielvj" Cruzem, Grant Duane "Kelra" Pillas, Patrick James "E2MAX" Caidic, and Joshua "Ch4knu" Mangilog as members of its official roster for MLBB.

The team will also develop four rookie players, Robert Remar "Hito" Candoy, Dian Felix "Dian" Cruz, Dean Christian "Raizen" Sumagui, and Romeire "Allidap" Padilla, together with their coach, Jaime "Pakbet" Abalos, to complete its 10-man roster.

Jude Turcuato, FVP and Head of Sports at PLDT and Smart has said

We are extremely excited about this development in the Smart Omega team. These young men have shown their passion, determination, and heart in their gameplay, and we are more than happy to support their growth and development in the professional esports industry. We would also like to thank our former players who have decided to move on with their careers. We wish them all the best, he added.

The new Smart Omega esports athletes will be housed at the Smart Omega Bootcamp, which will be equipped with all of the great facilities to help them prepare for future championships. 

Smart has also given the professional players Smart 5G smartphones as well as a Smart 5G Rocket WiFi gadget to assist them to hone their talents and train on the telco's speedy 5G network.

The captain of the team "Z4pnu" has also shared

Maraming salamat sa pagtanggap sa amin dito. Gagawin namin ang best namin. Para sa amin, start pa lang ito ng aming journey at pinapangako namin na gagawin naming lahat ng makakaya namin, [Thank you for welcoming us in this team. We will do our very best. For us, this is just the start of our journey and we promise to do the best that we can]

He also said to the fans that he hopes they will still support them despite having a new team, together the former Execration members will still fight in many tournaments. Z4pnu also thanked the fans for always supporting his whole team.

Recently the former Execration has been crowned as the King of the SEA upon winning  Championship from the MSC Tournament. They were able to do a "Cinderalla-run" striking a legendary comeback to book a Grand Finals spot, where they face their fellow Filipino undefeated squad Blacklist International. The MSC tournament has featured the best teams in the SEA region such as the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thailand.
