Sony silently released a lighter PS5 Digital Edition in Australia

Sony has released a new model of PS5 Digital Edition that does not require the use of a screwdriver to install the stand.

Lighter version and revamped stand design!

Sony has quietly unveiled a new edition of their PlayStation 5 Digital Edition console with having the model number CFI-1102A. The console is now available for purchase in Australia and features two main modifications over the previous CFI-1000B model: a 300-gram weight decrease, resulting in a total weight of 3.6KG, and a revamped stand design that does not require the use of a screwdriver to install.

The new screw in the box has a gripping texture on the head that makes it easy to attach by hand.

Overall, this new model does not bring any significant changes to the hardware. The new CFI-1102A PS5 Digital has been found in leaked shop lists in Japan, thus we should anticipate the special edition console to arrive there soon. Apparently, there is presently no news on when or if the updated PS5 version will be available to customers in the rest of the world.
