AirAsia Philippines, DICT partner for easier verification of vaccinated travelers!

AirAsia Philippines is linking its mobile app with the Department of Information and Communications Technology's VaxCertPh!

This move aims to easily verify if travellers are already vaccinated against COVID-19.

Verification of vaccine information to be available soon on the AirAsia app

In an issued statement, the low-cost airline said its guests will soon experience a "seamless" verification of vaccine information through its AirAsia SuperApp.

The company said the Travel Health Icon will be accessible in its mobile app and airsia website. Under the integrated system, the vaccination information of passengers will be uploaded on AirAsia's Super App.

Integrating the AirAsia Health Travel Icon into the airasia Super App is our way of supporting the immediate and swift recovery not only of the airline industry, but the country’s tourism sector as a whole. It further defines the digital direction of our company. We will continue to create and develop system enhancements which will level up the digital travel experience of our guests, said AirAsia Philippines chief executive officer Ricky Isla.

The DICT developed VaxCertPH for the Department of Health to help verify the legitimacy of a Filipino's vaccination status.

This is also in compliance with the World Health Organization’s (WHO) guidelines on the issuance of digital vaccine certificates.

While we are all looking forward to the trial phase of the special feature of the app in the Philippines, we are also exploring future enhancements such as making RT-PCR Test or Antigen test results available on the Super App in the near future, Isla added.
