Meet the realme Pad

The realme Pad will be the company's first tablet in the country. It boasts a sleek design with slim bezels featuring a 10.4-inch WUXGA+ LCD screen with up to 360 nits brightness and 2000 x 1200 resolution.

It packs a 7,100mAh Mega battery and has Dolby Atmos quad speakers. It runs on realme UI for Pad based on Android 11 out of the box.

How well does the first realme tablet fare? Let's have the first look.

It arrives in a clean white box with the product render in front. Inside we find the realme Pad, USB-A to USB-C cord, wall charger, SIM ejector tool, and paper manual.

There are no earphones with a mic and tablet pencil. We would have also appreciated it better if there's a FREE case since it'd be hard finding an aftermarket case.

Build Quality/Design

realme Pad features an aluminum alloy body design with a solid and premium feel. The materials used confused us as to why it's a budget tablet.

The Pad is available in Real Gray and Real Gold. We are reviewing the latter packed with 3GB/32GB RAM and storage, respectively. It has rounded corners, an ultra-thin body, and is comfortable to hold with one hand.

The top is obviously made of glass, however, there's no mention of IP rating or screen protection.

Design-wise, the realme Pad looks expensive and feels premium for the price, good job, realme!

Expensive look and premium feel!

The power button along with two of the quad speakers are placed on top of the Pad. Meanwhile, the 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C port, and rest of the quad speakers are found at the bottom.

The left side is clean while the right side houses the volume rocker button, microphone, and SIM tray. The protruding camera is lone at the back with the realme branding placed on the bottom right.

Integrated SIM slot!

Notably, the tablet features an integrated SIM slot that not only supports dual-SIM for LTE network but also allows users to have one of them for storage extension of up to 1TB with a microSD card.

Moving on to its display, the realme Pad sports a 10.4-inch display with WUXGA+ 2000 x 1200 resolution at 224 ppi.

Vast display modes for the user's eye comfort!

The following modes are present in the realme Pad:

1. Eye Comfort Mode - an eye-friendly feature not to fatigue the user's eyes even when used for extended periods of time.
2. Reading Mode - makes e-reading as close as possible to leafing through a paper book by simulating the texture of a book's pages.
3. Dark Mode - makes it easier to browse at night without the screen feeling dazzling and hurting the eyes.
4. Night Mode - adjusts the screen brightness to a minimum of 2 nits - reducing eye fatigue when the lights are out.
5. Sunlight Mode - adjusts the screen's maximum brightness so the user can clearly see the content when outdoors.

The almost 11-inch screen is just right for us. Of course, we can't expect its bezel to be similarly slim with smartphones. But, the realme Pad bezels give room enough for us to securely grip the tablet whether holding it on portrait or landscape mode.

As of the moment

The realme Pad presents a beautiful first tablet attempt from the emerging Chinese giant. It could be a nice option for those who are looking for an Android tablet whether for school or work at this price point.

During our short time with it, the device has had some hiccups when multiple apps were running in the background. But, we enjoyed its loud 4x Dolby Atmos speakers whether for casual music or binge-watching.

We're excited to share with you the rest of our experience, but for now, please wait for it. The realme Pad is now available in all realme stores nationwide, realme flagship stores in LazMall, and Shopee Mall.

As an exclusive offer on realme's official Store on Shopee, the realme Pad 3GB/32GB will be available for only PHP 8,990 (PHP 2,000 discount) Shopee starting October 22.

And as an early-bird offer, the realme Pad 3GB/32GB will also be available in realme stores and partner dealers nationwide for only PHP 9,990 (PHP 1,000 discount) from October 21-31.
