Cavite pre-launches LINKod Kabitenyo FREE public WiFi service for its residents
Cavite is now testing its LINKod Kabitenyo FREE public WiFi

Cavite tests its FREE public WiFi service in select areas

The provincial government of Cavite is pushing through the testing phase of its FREE public WiFI services. The aptly named, LINKod Kabitenyo is designed to provide FREE internet access to Cavite residents. This can be used by students, residents, and even visitors.

From November 15 to November 22, the service will already be available in Bacoor, Imus, and Dasmariñas. These are the three cities covered by the first phase of the LINKod Kabitenyo FREE WiFi service test.

There are some limitations in terms of usage to make sure that the service is evenly distributed. Registered students will only have 4 hours of usage per day. Teachers, frontliners, and other employees will have 8 hours of FREE internet access per day. The rest of the general population will have 1 hour of usage per day.

LINKod Kabitenyo will also block websites and apps for gaming and streaming as well as those with indecent content such as porn. This ensures that bandwidth is only used for important and essential services only.

The testing phase allows the Cavite government to assess the user experience in the three cities before rolling out the service in other cities and municipalities.
