A MediaTek SoC scores record-breaking numbers!

According to rumors, Taiwanese chipmaker has lined up several clients for its 4nm SoC. Chinese smartphone maker vivo is included among those lists and one of its devices may have become the first Android handset to get a score from the AnTuTu benchmark above 1 million.

The device with a model name vivo V2184 equipped with MT6983 chipset, also allegedly known as the Dimensity 2000, and the phone will most likely be a new X-series model. It managed to achieve a score of 1,002,220 as reported by Ice Universe. Although the Chinese benchmark app has yet to confirm the validity of the said score.

It's worth noting that the graphic seen above claimed that the scores are abnormal, thus the legitimate retail machine's score could be lower.

To recall, the current top Scoring Android phone which is the Red Magic 6 was able to reach 858,734 points while only Apple's M1-powered iPad Pros were able to get past above 1 million scores.

Although the video only makes vague promises about improved performance and battery life, unofficial data implies that MediaTek has acquired a 4nm order with TSMC. Rivals Qualcomm and Samsung will both use Samsung's 4nm foundries.
