Goodbye, face shields? Hello, goggles?

An official of the Department of Health (DOH) revealed that experts are also studying the use of goggles to provide an added layer of protection against Coronavirus.

Goggles instead of face shields?

Amid calls from local officials to completely scrap the face shield policy, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said on Monday the use of goggles and double face masks is being considered by health experts and the DOH.

The possibility of implementing the use of goggles is there, the official added.

The DOH said it will submit its updated recommendation on the use of face shields to the Inter-Agency Task Force this week.

While Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno lifted the use of face shields, except in medical facilities, the national government still stressed that local executives must enforce the order.
