Huawei nova Y9a arrives in South Africa!

In South Africa, Huawei has silently launched the new nova Y9a. It features a large 6.63-inch notch-less IPS LCD display with 2400 x 1080 resolution and 92 percent screen-to-body ratio. 

Inside the new smartphone is the MediaTek Helio G80 SoC, 8GB RAM, 128GB UFS 2.1 and a Huawei NM card slot. Powering the device is a 4,300mAh battery with 40W SuperCharge Fast charging tech thru USB-C.

At the back of the phone is a 64MP main camera, 8MP 120-degree ultra-wide camera, 2MP macro camera, 2MP depth sensor with an LED flash. While on top of the phone is the hidden pop-up mechanism with a 16MP f/2.2 selfie camera.

Other features include dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The phone features 76.5 x 163.5 x 8.95mm and weighs 197 grams.

Running the show is Android 10 OS with EMUI 10.1 on top however like other Huawei phones, the nova Y9a does not have Google Mobile Services.

It will arrive in either Space Silver or Midnight black colorways.

The new smartphone is now available for pre-order in South Africa and will be available for purchase on February 5, 2022. 

There is no word yet on International or Philippine pricing and availability.
