Level-up mobile gaming experience!

According to the group, they achieved this feat by finding success amid the pandemic era wherein for a short period COVID-19 disrupted the industry of Esports.

Among the duo's achievements was its numerous lineup of online competitions for mobile gaming, where OPPO, as a major sponsor, reinforced local events by making them more exciting with activities and giveaways relevant to helping viewers and aspiring professional gamers achieve their goals of becoming pro gamers. These actions also contributed to the Philippine Pro Gaming League (PPGL) and the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) setting viewership records this year.

The smartphone brand also attempted to better understand and integrate itself into the gaming ecosystem, as well as to encourage genuine and long-term engagement with community members. To that purpose, it launched the OPPO Game On Facebook group, where professional and amateur gamers could interact and share their esports passion in a secure and collaborative environment. The organization featured its own community cup where members could win unique rewards and promote their own work. This group of gaming fans from all over the country has expanded to nearly 60,000 members as of the moment.

The local esports industry in the Philippines has been bursting at the seams with a talent for years and we are proud to have played a part in realizing that potential into concrete, sustainable results. Our partnership with Mineski has allowed us to extend support to the growing esports community and we’re very happy with what we’ve achieved together, said Ele Yu, Marketing Director of OPPO Philippines.

With their latest OPPO Tower and Where's Ollie, which are now available on Mineski Global's mgames platform and available on GCash, the smartphone brand drove the introduction of OPPO-branded games as hyper-casual games have seen increased popularity this year. Guests can play new games for free on it at any time and from any location. It also has a promotional mode where interested players can earn large bonuses of up to PHP 1 million, and both games have over 600,000 players combined, based on their most recent statistics.

To express its unwavering support, OPPO also played a key role in assisting the development of local talent, particularly Blacklist International, which recently won the M3 World Championships in Singapore last December 2021.

2021 has been a remarkable year for Philippine esports. We have proven through our programs and esports infrastructure that the country can develop top talent with teams rightfully earning local, regional, and global accolades across different esports titles. We saw the growth of the mobile gaming market and how Filipinos stood out in the biggest mobile game tournaments such as the League of Legends: Wild Rift Icon Series and the Mobile Legends Professional League. Two All-Filipino teams made it to the finals of M3, where Blacklist International brought home their 2nd championship. We are beyond grateful for OPPO’s support to the gaming community, said Mark Navarro, Mineski Philippines Country Manager.

You may expect more exciting events in the Philippine Esports soon, particularly in the upcoming SEA Games 2022 and the MPL PH Season 9 to name a few.
