#ICYMI: AMD launches new affordable Ryzen 5000 and 4000 series desktop processors

AMD announced 6 new desktop Ryzen CPUs meant for those PC builders looking for budget processors. These belong to the 4000 and 5000 series!

New AMD Ryzen 4000 series CPUs

With Ryzen 4000 series via Zen 2 architecture, there's the Ryzen 3 4100, Ryzen 5 4500, and Ryzen 5 4600G. First, the Ryzen 3 4100 features 4 cores with 8 threads, a 3.6GHz base clock, a 4.1GHz boost clock, a 6MB cache, and a 65W TDP.

AMD Ryzen 5 4500 features 6 cores with 12 threads, a 3.6GHz base clock, a 4.1GHz boost clock, an 11MB cache, and a 65W TDP. The AMD Ryzen 5 4600G 6 cores with 12 threads, a 3.7GHz base clock, a 4.2GHz boost clock, an 11MB cache, an integrated Radeon graphics, and a 65W TDP.

New AMD Ryzen 5000 series CPUs

With Ryzen 5000 series via Zen 3 architecture, there's the Ryzen 5 5500, Ryzen 5 5600, and Ryzen 7 5700X. First, the Ryzen 5 5500 features 6 cores with 12 threads, a 3.6GHz base clock, a 4.2GHz boost clock, a 19MB cache, and a 65W TDP.

AMD Ryzen 5 5600 features 6 cores with 12 threads, a 3.5GHz base clock, a 4.4GHz boost clock, an 35MB cache, and a 65W TDP. The AMD Ryzen 7 5700X has 8 cores with 16 threads, a 3.4GHz base clock, a 4.6GHz boost clock, an 36MB cache, and a 65W TDP.

Finally, AMD confirmed that the 300 series chipset motherboards would support Ryzen 4000 and 5000 series CPUs. This includes versions with the X370, B350, and even the A320 chipset. In April, the beta BIOS upgrades that enable support will be released on the websites of the different motherboard manufacturers.
