TECNO CAMON 19 series will feature the Samsung RGBW camera sensor
The Samsung RGBW color filter sensor technology will be available on TECNO's next new CAMON range of camera phones, according to the company. This new technology, which involves the addition of a white sub-pixel to the existing universal RGB setups on phones and is offered as part of the ISOCELL RGBW color filter sensor solutions, was developed in collaboration with Samsung.
RGBW technology is being touted as the next big update to existing mobile camera frameworks. It will allow the new generation of phones to catch up with professional cameras including low-light situations. The new RGBW sensor will be a 64MP camera to boost the light input to the CMOS sensor, significantly enhancing image quality and providing ultra-clear details in dark and illuminated backgrounds without affecting contrast. Light intake is expected to be increased by another 30 percent when combined with TECNO's Glass + Plastic (G+P) technology which aims to double the total image quality for consumers.
The RGBW light capture sensor adopts a new pixel arrangement compared to the traditional RGGB sensor by introducing white pixels. White pixels are more sensitive to light on the basis of not damaging the original three primary colors. They give 1.7 times better sensitivity than a green color filter, which can not only ensure that the color is not distorted but also improve the brightness.
