Typhoon Odette ravaged parts of the Visayas and Mindanao in December last year, leaving a trail of destruction on the two main islands.

The company said its commitment will be done through the help of the PLDT-Smart Foundation.

Smart Infinity will be donating a portion of our proceeds to the communities affected by Typhoon Odette and will partake in the rebuilding efforts that are currently ongoing. We would like to express much gratitude to our Infinity Members who have donated to our previous Corporate Social Responsibility projects, and we look forward to broadening our support towards more communities in the next few days, said Sofia Borromeo Alvarez, Smart Infinity Head and AVP.

In the same statement, the group said Smart Infinity members can also donate easily to their chosen charities through Smart Infinity’s text-to-donate feature on their Smart-powered mobile devices.

Text-to-donate beneficiaries include COVID-19 / Disaster Response efforts of PSF, School in A Bag, and Kids for Kids PH.

To recap, Smart Infinity is powered by the country's fastest and most reliable 5G mobile network, Ookla reports earlier showed. Currently, PLDT's wireless business has already fired up around 7,200 5G base stations nationwide making it the country's fastest 5G network.
