Meet DJI Mini 3 Pro

It has auto flight modes, a three-axis gimbal, and more premium features

DJI's mini drone is going pro with significant upgrades compared to its predecessor. It still weighs 249g so users are not required to register it with most authorities.

To start off, the device is equipped with a new 1/1.3-inch sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. Aside from that, it has a 48MP sensor that can shoot in full-res 48MP, or in binned 12MP mode.

The lens is 24mm which is the same width as the Mini 2, but narrower than the Air 2S' 20mm lens. In terms of video, the DJI Mini 3 Pro can record 4K video up to 60fps and 4K HDR video up to 30fps.

DJI included the flatter D-Cinelike, aside from the normal color profile. Note that it's an 8-bit video, not 10-bit like on the Air 2S. Meanwhile, its three-axis gimbal can rotate vertically to deliver that portrait-style TikTok and Reels-worthy video and photo.

Another notable upgrade of the Mini 3 Pro over the Mini 2 is obstacle avoidance. The latter has downward sensors only whereas the Mini 3 Pro has forward, backward and downward sensors.

These sensors enable the DJI Mini 3 Pro to support autonomous flight modes like Spotlight 2.0, Point of Interest 3.0, Active Track 4.0, MasterShots, and Hyperlapse as well.

Since the Mini 3 Pro has a more huge battery, the flight time increased significantly. The Mini 2 only got 31 minutes to 34 minutes with the standard Intelligent Flight Battery.

This new mini drone is claimed to last for 47 minutes of flying time. It even features an Intelligent Flight Battery Plus that comes with the Fly More Combo.

This is said to boost the flight time, though that cell requires the faster DJI 30W charger. This means it moves the drone past the no-regulations 249 g weight.

DJI also released a new DJI RC controller with a 5.5-inch 700 nit display built-in. Allegedly, this one is lighter and more affordable than the previous RJI RC Pro.
