Maya, formerly PayMaya, bagged the top award Privacy Initiative of the Year at the recently concluded Privacy Awareness Week Awards 2022 for being a secure one-stop financial platform for consumers and businesses.

All-in-one money platform Maya’s secure ecosystem earns NPC’s praise

The awards-giving body, which is spearheaded by the National Privacy commission (NPC), has lauded Maya’s #FraudPatrol campaign. This initiative mobilized Maya employees to actively report suspicious phishing by way of social media challenges, gamified missions, awareness testing, webinars, and interactive content.

During the course of the campaign in 2021, it prevented phishing and malware attack incidents in the workplace while acknowledging the critical role of its employees in protecting customer data.

Apart from the #FraudPatrol campaign, the newly established Maya Bank was a finalist for the Privacy Management of the Year for establishing customer-centric data privacy practices while Maya Bank Data Protection Officer John Christopher Retardo was also a finalist for the Data Protection Officer of the Year award.
