A new premium mid-range chip!

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is the first in the Snapdragon 7 Series designed to power premium mid-range devices.

The said chip is based on Samsung's 4nm manufacturing process. It uses a 1x ARM Cortex-A710 Prime core clocked at 2.4GHz, 3x ARM Cortex-A710 performance cores clocked at 2.36GHz, and 4x ARM Cortex-A510 Efficiency cores at 1.8GHz.

The device also has an Adreno GPU, but the company didn't specify other details about it. The flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 also has an Adreno GPU, but it is faster than the Adreno GPU of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 upper high mid-range chip. We won't be surprised if its GPU is a toned-down version for the said chip since Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is lower than Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

The chip also has a 7th Generation Qualcomm AI Engine with Qualcomm Hexagon processor and a 3rd Generation Qualcomm Sensing Hub.

It also supports up to 144Hz refresh at FHD+ resolution or 60Hz at QHD with 10-bit colors and up to HDR10+. For memory, it has up to LPDDR5 RAM.

The chip is also using a 14-bit Qualcomm Spectra Tiple ISP with up to 200MP photo capture and up to 2.5 Gigapixels per second compute vision ISP.

The modem it is using is the X62 5G modem with support for both sub-GHz and mmWave SA and NSA 5G. This also has a super-fast downlink of up to 4.4 Gbps.

The device also has Quick Charge 4+, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 with aptX Lossless, and GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, QZSS, NavIC).

This chip is said to be 20 percent faster than the 778G.

According to Qualcomm, the first companies to use the chip are HONOR, OPPO, and Xiaomi this Q2 2022.
