ZTE Axon 40 Pro, Axon 40 Ultra with SD 8 Gen 1 and SD870 now official

The ZTE Axon 40 Pro with Snapdragon 870 and Axon 40 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 are now official in China. The latter also has three 64MP sensors!

ZTE Axon 40 Pro

First up, the ZTE Axon 40 Pro features a 6.7-inch OLED screen with 2400 x 1080 FHD+ resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, up to 1000 nits peak brightness, up to 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, and a 20:9 aspect ratio.

Inside, it has the 3.2GHz 7nm Snapdragon 870 octa-core processor, Adreno 650 GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 66W fast charging. For cameras, it has a quad-camera setup with 108MP f/1.89 main camera + 8MP f/1.89 120-degree ultra-wide-angle sensor + 2MP 4cm macro sensor + 2MP depth sensor with LED flash.

It runs Android 12 with MyOS 12. It also has an In-Display fingerprint sensor, WiFi 6, 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, GLONASS, USB-C with audio, stereo speakers, NFC, and dual SIM.

ZTE Axon 40 Ultra, on the other hand, features a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with 2480 x 1080 FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, 1440Hz PWM dimming, and up to 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut.

Inside, it has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 octa-core processor, Next-Gen Adreno GPU, up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 1TB UFS 3.1 storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging. For cameras, it has a triple-camera setup with a 64MP f/1.16 Sony IMX787 sensor with OIS + 64MP Sony IMX787 ultra-wide-sensor + 64MP Periscope telephoto camera with OV64B sensor with 5.7x optical zoom, TOF sensor and LED flash.

It runs Android 12 with MyOS 12. It also has an In-Display fingerprint sensor, WiFi 6E, 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band GPS, GLONASS, USB-C, stereo speakers, NFC, and dual SIM.

These may be ordered now and will be available in China on May 13th. According to the company, the worldwide version will be ready in June 2022. Local pricing and availability are yet to be confirmed but we will update you as soon as we get more information.
