Thru the PlayStation Blog, Sony reveals a price increase of the PlayStation for Southeast Asian countries.
The current global economic environment and high inflation rates have led consumers to experience adverse currency trends that have created pressure in many industries.
This includes Sony Interactive Entertainment or SIE which resulted in the company making the "difficult" decision to increase the recommended retail price of the PlayStation 5 in select markets across Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA), Latin America (LATAM), Canada and Asia-Pacific (APAC). There will be no price increase in the United States.
SIE also says that the company's top priority is improving the PS5 supply situation.

Now, the PlayStation 5 with UHD Blu-ray disc drive will cost Philippine customers PHP 30,790. This is a considerable PHP 2,800 increase in price.
